Privacy Statement
This statement outlines how Firefly Coaching & Training collects, stores, uses and shares clients’ personal information, and is compliant with the Privacy Act 2020.
For the rest of this Statement ‘Firefly’ will be used in place of ‘Firefly Coaching & Training’.
If you have any questions or concerns related to this, or you would like access to, or to correct, information Firefly holds about you, please contact by emailing marie-louise@fireflycoaching.nz.
The personal information Firefly collects, how and why, and who it is shared with
When you fill in a form on the Firefly website, you are asked for your name, phone number and/or email address, along with any message you wish to provide about your query. This information enables me to respond to you with the information you need.
When you contact Firefly to book coaching or training, you are asked for your name, phone number and email address, organisation and industry. This information enables communication with you about the coaching or training you are booking (such as sending you a Google Meet link), to understand your work situation to prepare for the session, and to follow up with you afterwards. Your contact information is shared with Firefly’s payment provider Hnry to send you an invoice for payment.
When you make contact with Firefly, with a query, or to book, I may ask to add your contact details to Firefly’s newsletter recipients database, for the purposes of sharing a regular newsletter. You can opt out of this at any time. And, if you have previously consented to receiving the newsletter, you can unsubscribe.
During coaching and training sessions, I will make notes related to our discussions. This enables me to follow up usefully with you after the training, to remember what we discussed ahead of any future coaching or training – to offer you the best support possible – and to inform the design of other coaching and training offerings.
There may also be instances in which photos of participants will be taken at Firefly events. Such photos would only be shared (e.g. in a blog post, or newsletter edition) with your permission.
Cookies
The Firefly website may install cookies on your web browser. This is to track your interaction with the Firefly website to identify what users find helpful and to inform future content.
Within the privacy and security settings for your web browser, you can choose to block cookies and delete those already present.
Those who have access to the personal information collected by Firefly
Firefly is owned by me, Marie-Louise Siddle, and I have no employees. Therefore, access to your personal information from within Firefly is limited to one person.
However, as mentioned above, there are times when Firefly will share your personal information. For example, in purchasing a coaching or training product, your contact information (e.g. name and email address) will be forwarded to Firefly’s payment provider Hnry. And, with your permission, photos of you from Firefly events might be shared with a broader audience (e.g. newsletter subscribers, the general public on LinkedIn).
How long Firefly holds your personal information
Firefly holds your personal information for as long as necessary to carry out its agreements with you, whether that is to provide you a coaching or training session, or deliver you a newsletter you have subscribed to.
If Firefly has not had contact from you after five years, your personal information will be deleted.
Firefly will delete your personal information immediately, if you request that.
How Firefly stores your personal information securely
Firefly takes all reasonable steps to keep your personal information safe and secure on its devices. No physical records with personal information are held.
Your personal information may also be held by service providers in New Zealand (e.g. by Firefly’s website host Rocketspark) and overseas (e.g. Google, due to Firefly’s use of Google Workspace as its email provider), or in the cloud. Firefly does everything reasonably within its power to select service providers that take data protection and security seriously, and have suitable measures in place – in line with expectations under New Zealand’s Privacy Act 2020.
Your access to your personal information held by Firefly
You have the right to access or correct your personal information held by Firefly. To do this, please email marie-louise@fireflycoaching.nz. I will be happy to help!
